Raise money for Cancer Charities and promote
awareness of Cancer
" In 2010, after watching Soccer Aid at Old Trafford, I decided to take the same
principal of the event and use it on a local scale. The idea being that, once a
year, a team of local misfits, ( including me ! ), would play against the local
football clubs "legends" side. The event would raise money for Cancer charities.
I am pleased to say that the event has grown and is receiving big sponsorship
now. It runs on a 12 month basis and has its own website. At the point of
writing this we are at the £1500 mark with a naked calendar in the pipeline.
This money is going to a local hospice for terminally ill cancer patients. Next
year I intend to add the cash support to another charity and invite all cancer
support groups along.
